one of my friends called me to ask me about the plastic surgeon that i went to years ago...to get a minor adjustment. it was funny....at the time that i altered my appearance, i was so indignant to everyone that would tell me not to. i found myself taking the opposite role with my friend in this situation. now, let's get it straight...i'm not all about being fake. i'm not into face lifts and lipo. i feel that if something is very bothersome to you about your appearance though, that there should be some consideration about how it could change your attitude and confidence, if you were to change that one thing. i know, that for myself...i likely will only have changed this one thing about myself and i will not be doing it to any other part of me. did it do what i set out to? yes. i am more confident and my attitude changed considerable afterwards.
my friend wrote to ask me, however, if she should let her boyfriend pay for part of the surgery, because she had thought that my boyfriend, at the time, had paid for mine. after i screamed "HELL NO" at her, via text, i explained. these types of things have to be all about you. it's when they are not, that i think they go bonkers. you don't know if you will be with this person forever or not and i don't think there are a whole lot of men out there that would be thrilled about knowing that they paid for an ex-girlfriend's cans instead of their current wife's something or other.
am i a fan of plastic surgery? no. do i think that, for some people, it can truly help? yes. is it natural? absolutely not. am i glad that i did it? yes.
now excuse me while i go throw up, thinking of sitting in a bike saddle for 7 hours a day.

I think you know that I work for a plastic surgeon. And we tend to weed out the ones that are doing it for someone else. You are NOT happy with the result if it's not all for you. When the husband calls to make the appointment for the wife, you've already got a strike against you. The doctor has an uncanny knack for picking them out and saying no. And I agree. Did you know that you are 25 percent more likely to commit suicide if you have a breast augmentation?
Because you think it's going to CHANGE EVERYTHING IN YOUR LIFE. Which it does not.
I always tell people to think about all their motives before going through with it. It's better safe than sorry.
I don't know if i knew that or not. i had heard that suicide stat and i would be close to saying i truly believe that. it doesn't change a thing in your life...it's YOU who changes. i'm nervous for my friend, for a variety of reasons, but mostly because she's an ever evolving eating disorder, if that makes sense. never happy with herself and i'm afraid she thinks this is the fix. it's scary.
also, incredibly impressed with the doc that you work for. i was sitting there thinking today, "i wonder how many docs turn patients away that they know are doing it for the wrong reasons." how scary that there are people out there that don't care
He's been known to send people straight to a psychiatrist's office from this one because he knows there's something else going on. He is a good man.
Good luck with your ride tomorrow!
