but it's all part of the plan. I think that sometimes that's the hardest thing to realize.
t and I talk a lot...in fact, just this a.m. about how life didn't turn out how we thought it would. he had said something funny, i think he was singing a song about butts and nickels and he made a comment about how he thought when he was an adult, that we would have to be serious and stuffy and he just couldn't believe that it was like it is.
i have a friend...actually two friends, who are a couple, and right now, things are not turning out the way they thought they would. i have no doubt in my head, that things will turn out so WAY far above their wildest dreams, they will be sitting there in a few years wondering how life got this way...so perfect and so great.
t and i are taking a trip to st. thomas in a bit. right now, he is begrudgingly telling co-workers, "my wife is having me to go st. thomas". they are seriously wondering what is wrong with him. he likes being in control. traveling and flying, to a lot of people, are NOT the things that make us feel in control. sometimes, we have to let go and let what is going to happen....happen.

my job
my job actually consists of very little to do with shoes, even though it's a shoe company. i'm more on the people side of it. one of the bad/good things about it, is that we are expected to wear the company's shoes every day to work. it would be bad...however, in the past few years, the line has gotten more diversified and i actually love them. the other great thing is that we get some cash to spend on our shoe collection as well.
so, the other day, we headed to the store and I came home with these boxes:
Which held in them my favorites of the winter season....behold!
i am incredibly happy with all of this. it's fulfilling two needs...my need to work, and my need for shoes. What could be better???

can there be any more good news??
wow, today was a load of good news. in the morning, we realized that there was some snow on the ground. t was up and shoveling away....i checked my work email and found that although the company wasn't closed, they did give each director free reign as to what their department should do. ours gave us the option to stay at home. which would be great, but my job isn't one that i can stay home for. so, i trudged off in the snow. but i made it just fine and went to work 1 and headed to work 2. slip sliding away the whole time. i get the impression and also advice from other people, that cars don't come with good tires on them! so, i got to work, had a productive time.
I got news last week that there would be a change in my job, and a good one at that. I'm going to be taking over for a woman's maternity leave, as a corporate recruiter. now, this should be fun and challenging! i'm really excited to learn all i can about it and see if it's something that fits the bill in terms of being a "passion" of mine.
i left early, got my mom's car, which has 4WD and headed home. I had packed away a whole bunch of filing and sat in front of the tv for the afternoon doing that!

I talked to a friend this a.m. at about 5:30 and she said that her husband had been contacted by a company in ft. collins (where I am) they are interested in him for a job. out of the clear blue sky. i was so excited. they have some things keeping them in the state where they are in, but THEN later in the day, we found that these things may be lifted sooner than later! HOW EXCITING. I'm just sure that they will hold this job for him....i'm hoping and praying!

little meme!!!
Current Book(s): i'm reading the girl with the dragon tattoo. yes, i realize i'm probably the last person on earth to read this. but i have it on my free kindle phone app. so, im reading it...small page, by small page. also reading "knit one, kill two". not a common read, but its set in the town that we live in and involves a high end knitting store that actually exists, in town.
Current Playlist: my husband has recently discovered 90s rock. i don't know where he was in the 90s, but he missed this era of music and has started playing it. this, has given me great nostalgia for everything that was playing in college. this has me listening to pearl jam "black", all kinds of stuff by bush, and lots of other songs.

Current Shame-Inducing Guilty Pleasure: Justin's Nut Butter. this is not a current one, but also a past and future one. i love this stuff. i can't help it. and it doesn't help that the company sent over samples to our company for a trade
Current Color: meh, maybe yellow, but that's an always color too
Current Drink: hot tea
Current Food(s): i'm discovering a new found love for tuna or chicken sandwiches and instead of mayo (which I don't like), using avocados. super good!
Current Favorite Show(s): The bachelor (what a circus show that is)
Current Wishlist: I think an e-reader. I saw I think because i've not realized if I would use it....also, i don't have time to read a regular book...i don't know what making it computerized would do

what we are doing...or not doing, for that matter!
since i wanted to get my vacation in as early as possible, and t has to get his in ASAP in order to get it, we both have all of our weeks of vacation off on the work calendars! it's an awesome feeling to have a plan like that, but kind of overwhelming when realizing how MUCH we'll be gone....
first off, in March, i'm traveling to MN with t for a work trip...just a couple days, but we get back, work for 2 days, then its off to ST. THOMAS!!!! WOOOO HOOOO. when we get back, we are contemplating traveling to Austin for our Texas Road Rash race that we usually participate in. if we do though, it'll be for one weekend only. After that, i'll be going to Dallas in the middle of May for a baptism, in which i'm a key player. you see, someone was crazy awesome enough to ask me to be their baby's fairy godmother. so, i'll be traveling down there that weekend.
The last weekend in May, i'll betrying to think about doing this triathlon. it would be my first and supposedly is a good one for beginners...we'll see...
first week in June, t has a work thing in Dallas. I'll be going again to spend more time with the little goddaughter. in June, there is a 6 day period when we will be traveling tosomewhere in WI to do our first try of an inline marathon there! so excited. this course promises smooth road to skate on...i'm so excited, i may do a full marathon, rather than the halfs that i've done for the past couple years!
September is Northshore inline....another usual for us and likely one that we will never miss. October 1st is my sister in laws wedding, back in MN, so yes, we'll be coming back one week and leaving almost the next for the wedding.
WHEW, i'm tired just thinking about this. no, not really.....i'm very excited. particularly about thinking about the triathlon. i'll just have to find a way to train for the swimming. our pool at the gym is so gross, green, dark, and humid...i have a tough time there.
