it's taking over the world

i have had numerous experience being a commercial realtor that have been enriching ones.  these are not them:

1.  a customer that blew wind then blew boogers all over the ground
2.  a customer that took 2 years of my life whilst i killed myself to find him some space, only to decide to "stay where he was"
3.  a customer that hired US and hasn't paid us for 3 years.
4.  my mom thinking that these men were coming after us with bats, when they really were just men carrying reems of upholstery fabric.

the latest trend is this:  for the past 2 months straight...we have had calls from people looking for space for medical marijuana distribution.  we have literally had at least 4 calls a week from different people looking.  this is amazing to me.

then, today i got a call from a person looking for 8,000 sq. ft. to grow it in.

what interesting things do you encounter with your jobs???

You did hear Obama say this week that the federal government will not prosecute people running medical marijuana stores in states that legally allow them, right? Maybe that's why they're coming out of the woodwork.

I work in an open space in our office full of cubes. The guy who sits on the other side from me has a hearing problem. He talks loudly. More like yells. Answers the main phone thinking it's his direct line. And doesn't answer me when I ask him a question. Thankfully, he travels a lot for work, so my interactions with him come in waves.

our town actually has a moratorium on them until they have an idea of how they are going to regulate them. we have had this going on for a while now. there have been some weeks when we have had no calls at all...except for MM uses. it's pretty funny for a pretty conservative little town

oh I have to post about this but I'll just tell you about Rex. My first job was at a mall clothing store. A really tall friendly crossdresser came in and tried a bunch of bathing suits and really sexy clothes and asked my to put them "on hold" for him until the next day, his pay day. I asked what name to put it under, he said in a really deep voice, "honey it's rex. Rhymes with sex." He was my best customer.
