so, i walked up to my trainer, who was talking to someone, and she said hi, then proceeded to literally turn her back on me and keep talking to the person.
well, I thought, maybe they were in something deep. t walked in and looked around with the funniest expression on his face and stated, "well, THIS isn't us". i started laughing so hard.
we then proceeded to stand there, really just soaking it all in, not doing anything, for the next hour. there was a girl that was making eyes at t...and by making eyes, that is an understatement. she had large bulgy eyes and when she was flirting, apparently thougt that the best way to do this, was to make them look like they were popping out of her head.
we watched drunkish people checking each other out, stood by more than a couple people that had insanely bad BO, then made our way back around to my trainer. she finally started talking to us....after about 4 minutes or so, her friend came up, and quite literally stopped our conversation with a "HI EVERYONE, i have made some new friends that you need to meet". she pushed us, out of the "circle of friends" and then it was the two of us again. it was really quite ridiculous.
we decided to leave and when we did, t walked out. i went up to the trainer to say bye and to ask a question. it took me, literally grabbing her arm three times and physically turning her around to say good-bye. then she did something that is so totally girl, i almost laughed.
for some reason, as girls, in certain situations, we play with people's hair. i don't know what it is....but in most cases, it's when we are feeling badly about something. like, we did something wrong and don't really have the words to say about it. well, that is what she did. started playing with my hair and then as an afterthought, as if it would make the last 2 hours of our night not a waste, she said, "you look really pretty".
so really, what happened in a summary, was we got invited to go to this thing with my trainer, i think, because she didn't have anyone to go with. she found some people she knew there that she obviously rather would have talked to, and therefore we were cast aside.
we left there, thanking god for each other. not really that we were with each other, so much, but more thankful that we were who we were and we happened to fit together really well. i obviously realize how important it is to find someone that is great for you and that you match up with. but really, i don't think i realized HOW important it was until that night. i would much rather be single and good in my own skin, than to be with someone that wasn't my best friend.

I read your first post saying you were going to one of these and thought that sounded like fun, though I hate beer, just being out trying something different, yanno??
Sucks that you went there b/c really you were invited and she seemed like good company, and yeah, what the heck... and then she was too busy being 'single'. -- it happens, maybe she doesn't even realize, or she'll apologize greatly the next time you see her.
Glad you and T had each other and were on the same wavelength -- :)
Sorry you didn't have fun, but I'm really glad that you have the love of your life so you don't have to worry about those bar scenes. I never really enjoyed going to bars because of the same reason... it's like a meat market where guys ad girls blantantly check out each other. I like dancing though so even though dance clubs are the same, I enjoy going there from time to time.
Wow. I didn't read this far before my last comment!
Things like this do make me appreciate what i have & i don't need to impress & smooze.
