yes, i am asking myself the exact same thing.
well, kids, it's called life, as i know it, for the next three months or so.
as you know, i started a new job and as you may or may not know, i've had less than about 10 minutes a day to do other things in my life.
here's the scoop. i took a job to help my parents out some and to get a move on with my life. i felt too badly taking money from them, when many months, we didn't make any money, the real estate market being what it is. lo and behold this job came up. yes, it was entry level...however, it was in HR which is something i could definitely see being a good fit for me. there are a lot of pluses to the job. my boss is a great friend of mine. a wonderful girl that was in the family by virtue of dating a relative. it was like a break up to the family when they broke up...but she is still someone i consider a friend. i have the great fortune of working for someone who is motivated and such a great businesswoman.
the job, however, is one that is very different than anything i have ever done. it is straight data entry and not just that, because i would be fine with that. it is a load of data entry. you never finish...you can't...i don't think, it's physically impossible. this is a big issue for someone who needs to get things DONE. i found out what happens to a person who needs to get things done, that can't....they wake up in the middle of the night stressing that they haven't gotten those things done. these girls that do this job and act like it's nothing....do not be fooled. i think they are superheroes. my brain is full each night with the processes that i learned a week ago and the ones that i learned that day. it's never.....ending. on top of that, putting three hours a day into real estate...and by the end of the day friends....i'm done.
i did a career/life-plan with my boss yesterday. it was really interesting. ascertaining where you want to be and when in all aspects of life and in what time-frame. i highly recommend it.
this weekend, my youngest cousin gets married. i cannot tell you how excited i am for this. then next week, after working tuesday on what my co-worker described as being "one of the more hellish days you will have" (fantastic), we are leaving for Duluth for the BIG RACE!!!! it should be a great time!
