we are back from duluth. it was a good time and i can't believe it's already over.
We got off the plane, got an upgraded car, and drove as fast as we could to The Original Pancake House. We had been waiting a full year to go to this place again. we happened upon it by accident, then had been anticipating our next trip there. i'll have to say, mine was great. a goat cheese, spinach, and something else that i can't remember, omelette. it was so good. they have a variety of things there and among them, are the pancakes to the right...that's right, folks...bacon pancakes. we headed over the the Mall of America, because what trip to MN can be complete without that. just kidding. we went there to get our friend's kids some souvenirs. in the meantime, we visited the crocs store there and got some massages.
we headed up to Duluth. we got the house that we were staying at and found it to be great.
race day was rainy...well, it had rained all night. for the half marathon, it stopped. it was great, not too cold, but cold enough that you could wear warm weather clothes (tights and sleeves) and not be too hot. we took off. we had a good race. i had more in me the whole time. i could have gone at least 5 minutes faster than i did, but you know, you commit to skating with someone and that is what you should do....so that is what i did and was happy about it. we got done and i knew we were at least in the top 10.
watched the rest of the race....

You raced too! Wheee! I would be so scared to skate in the rain. You're a rockstar!
Did you feel like the hottest thing to ever wear skates? That's how I feel after a good run....
they have these amazing rain wheels that we use. I know, it sounds scary, but really, they grip so hard, you don't even notice. however, what you do notice is oil on the road...that was not fun and a little dicey...
Loved the pics!! :)
