along the same lines....

tamale pieImage by rachel is coconut&lime via Flickr

we have been doing "experiments" in our house lately. i got this trial run subscription to americas test kitchen. it's awesome. and the two things we've made from it, have come out quite great....even if we've had to make a few tweaks here and there. i made a tamale pie the other night....and then made it again. it makes two corningware pots full. the two pots are always gone by the end of the day 24 hours later.

i also made what was supposed to be beef satay. now, it's evolved to beef on a stick. we nixed the satay...part. i don't know that t even tried the sauce. but i did, and it tasted like a big peanut buttery mess. anyway, we have modified and changed cuts of beef and made it into beef on a stick.

i really like having things where i know how they were made. i think that really, that's the reason why i love to cook, even if it's not going to turn out great. i have found that i don't like preserved "things"...not at all.

watch, next thing you know i'm going to be sucking down aloe vera juice and talking about carob

Trying to catch up over here. So ok here goes: That looks delicious. Please don't be stingy with the recipes. Glad you made it ok on the bike. Keep on, it will get easier after a whil. Abd lastly I'm ok. Still alive, just trying to put all my thyroid cancer stuff behind me and get myself healthy so that I can have a baby next year. All my medical stuff I mention on my blog at this point is all routine and hopefully by January I will be considered cured. The worst of it all was in 2006 and 2007 so there's nothing to worry about. BTW-did you go to the acupuncturist? How did that go?

pea, i'm going for acupuncture on Monday! had to pay off some MRI bills first, but i'm ready to go! I will post the recipes...they were very good. the majority of mine (and i've never had a bad one) is from www.thepioneerwoman.com. try some...you will love them. but, i'll post the last two from the test kitchen site. i'm thinking i'll keep the subscription after the trial expires. i mean, you can't fail...these people have tried 50 differetn versions of the same recipe to see how it can be made the BEST!
