the verdict

so, as some of you mentioned, i have a lot going on right now.

i have found out that that is the understatement of the year...especially when along the way, you get this virus that they think is West Nile.  no kidding.  it all makes sense now and to be quite honest, i'm a bit more excited about that outcome than some of the other things that i was thinking that it could be,  but that doesn't make it any less frustrating in any way!  so, while i'm waiting for my 7-10 days of waiting for my test results of which they can't really do anything about anyway...i thought i'd let you in on a little secret.

i got a new job.  it has been 8 years since i've been in my current position and at that, i guess this job that i'm in right now is a comfortable one for me.  i could take risks if i wanted, i could make it exactly what i wanted it to be, because  i was working with family and other people that i had known for at least 30 years.  for the first time in oh, almost ever...i'm taking a job that is outside of my normal realm of what i went to school for and is, dare i say, corporate.  i will be in the HR department of a large shoe company, that you may know of as manufacturing rubbery gardening-looking shoes with little holes in the top, that people are very opinionated about.  they have, however, now branched out to make some shoes so stylish, i don't even know that i could wear them!  HELLO METALLIC HEELS!  i will be learning in a field from some of the greatest people and i really couldn't ask for a greater experience at this very time in my life.  so excited.

Congratulations, my friend. May the learning be quick and exciting. And frankly? When you know what's going on with your body, it's a lot more palatable than guessing.
